Overview
This coastal Cronulla property presented with widespread hairline cracking and age‑related wear across its rendered façades, together with weathered eaves and ceilings. Our team delivered a full exterior refresh using a Dulux specified system that restores appearance and improves durability against coastal conditions.
Structural movement and thermal cycling had opened fine cracks in the render. We remediated these, sealed the substrate, and installed an elastomeric membrane top‑coat to help resist future micro‑cracking and moisture ingress while retaining the existing colour scheme

Substrate preparation & priming
- Dulux Render Sealer to all patched and porous areas to promote adhesion and uniform porosity.
Elastomeric membrane for rendered walls
- Two coats Dulux Acratex Elastomeric 201 (Matt) on previously painted masonry/render for enhanced water resistance and crack‑bridging performance.
Top‑coats for eaves & ceilings
- Two coats Dulux Weathershield Exterior Acrylic to match existing colour and provide long‑term exterior protection
Preparation & Paint Process (Key Highlights)
- Diagnosed, opened and chased existing cracks; removed friable material.
- Re‑rendered and feathered repairs to blend with surrounding profiles.
- Applied Dulux Render Sealer to stabilise repairs and promote adhesion.
- Installed Dulux Acratex Elastomeric 201 membrane in two coats on rendered walls.
- Cleaned down eaves/ceilings, repaired minor cracking, and finished with two coats Dulux Weathershield.
